Mr. Fischman has more than 45 years experience in the Boston area in planning, environmental consulting and real estate development in both the public and private sectors. He supervises teams of planners, scientists, engineers and surveyors on various planning and permitting projects, particularly those requiring close coordination with local and state agencies and community groups.
His experience includes working for the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) for 15 years (1972-1987) in various positions including Deputy Director of Development and Urban Design, Director of Institutional Planning and Development and Project Manager for Downtown and Back Bay Development Projects.
After leaving the BRA, he became an environmental, permitting and planning consultant and was employed as a Senior Program Manager by HMM Associates/Earth Tech (1987-1996) and from 1996-2008 as Vice President of Daylor Consulting Group , which later merged with Tetra Tech, again providing permitting/planning consulting to clients of the firm.
In 2008, he established his own permitting/consulting practice, MLF Consulting, directing permitting and planning efforts for numerous private sector and institutional clients throughout Boston. His client list includes universities, hospitals, and hotel, residential, office, and retail developers. See Project Samples.
His vast experience in both the public and private sectors has proved invaluable to clients who he has assisted in resolving issues of permitting, transportation, infrastructure, urban design, historic resources, and community/neighborhood concerns.
